Helloooooooooooooo out there! Slow Food on Campus at USCA is finally here! YAY! Many thanks to everyone who has worked hard to get us to this point. Now, let's keep going! :D
Just a reminder, while it's on my mind: Meetings are at 5 p.m. in the H&SS building in room 116 on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of every month. Our elections are coming up on the 4th Wednesday of March... Our primary goal right now is to recruit as many people as we can find!
So far, we haven't had any activities. We really are brand new at this. But Slow Food itself isn't brand new, it has quite a history! Find out more about Slow Food at http://slowfood.com/! Or, for the national branch, http://slowfoodusa.org/ :)
Hopefully, we will have some exciting events coming up very, very soon. Currently on the idea board are making cheese, viewing related videos (i.e., King Corn and/or Food Inc.), helping with the Student Garden that is coming soon to USCA, inviting the Aiken Farmer's Market to visit USCA once in awhile to make their wares more available to the students here, and so forth. All these are going to take work, but we're working on it.
If you have any questions, comments, ideas, concerns, anything - our email is usca@slowfoodusa.org. And please please pleeeeeeease come participate in any way you can!
Thanks y'all!!!
